On that note, think of it like it's another team and how you would feel; OSU just had 3/4 of last years secondary go to the NFL and now this secondary is better. Very visibly and unquestionably better.

OSU needs to make Schiano the highest paid DC in the country by a large margin to at least entice him to stay a couple of more years. Our secondary hasn't looked this good in awhile.

It was during either the BGSU or Tulsa game (think Tulsa) that one of the commentators was mentioning how much Schiano supposedly loves being just a DC and being one at tOSU and is completely happy.

I do like reading foxsports, they have an article to back every opinion, but this one is my favorite this morning. Apparently OU was the young team, even though they returned twice as many starters and lost only 4 to the draft (2nd,4th,5th,6th rounds).

All-Big 12 first team defense? I didn't realize there was such a thing. Anyway, Ohio State lost three defensive players who were drafted in the first 20 picks of the 2016 NFL Draft (#3, #10, #20). Plus a second rounder (#61), and third rounder (#80), and a fourth rounder (#102). Plus an undrafted free agent who made the Seattle Seahawks roster. That's seven Buckeyes from the 2015 defense who are now playing in the NFL.

It's the same on offense, where the gaping holes weren't as notable but pieces are still missing from last year. Most notably it came at the wide receiver position, where Sterling Shepard departed after being one of the most productive pass-catchers in school history

And Ohio State lost three starting wide receivers, Michael Thomas (second round, #47), Braxton Miller (third round, #85), and Jalin Marshall (UDA with the Jets). Plus their starting tight, Nick Vannett (third round, #94). The Buckeyes lost basically their entire receiving corps from 2015, not just one pretty good player.

Without Shepard, the offense is stagnating. They averaged just 23.5 points against Houston and Ohio State. For comparison's sake, they averaged 43 over the entire season last year.

Wow, I didn't realize Sterling Shepard was such a prodigious talent that his loss means 20 points per game to the Sooner offense. Or maybe the real reason the Sooners couldn't score points against Houston and Ohio State is those teams actually play defense, unlike the Big 12 teams.

But don't blame Bob Stoops. The coach can't fix what the media couldn't see a couple months ago.

Actually, Big Game Bob could recruit better. Or coach better. Or both.
