Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

Nice post schwab, but I can't say I agree with this part...

If they don't pick up the option he walks with zip return. They didn't extend him, they just didn't do the worst thing they could do which was let Dunn go for nothing......so we've got that going for us.

I think picking up that option was very important. Unfortunately, other goats, older than Dunn will probably follow....

:smash: I'm an idiot. I wasn't thinking in those terms...

Like I said before....this is it. The last straw, I'm done.

I can't root for anyone else, but I'm not investing one once of emotion or caring into this sorry ass franchise.

Yeah as much as I'd like to be able to I can't actually drop them cold turkey. :(

Another season of getting my balls kicked up to the roof of my mouth 90+ times approaches.

Who's with me? We need to be there for Jaxbuck, as he is clearly at that point where we've all been before. I don't think we've lost him just yet...

It's neither good nor bad, but yet an awakening, a cleansing. A chance to step back and rethink your options. What'd Woody say? "Nothing cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you?" Being a Reds fan is hard, I can attest. But it may be worth it in the long run.

The temptation to hang your head and shop around is strong. Next season will tell the story of a team that had no shot, a la Colorado, from day 1 yet overcame the odds. Fellas, it can be done! The Rockies are in the World Series! Our division is ripe for the taking.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Carrie Cochran The Cincinnati Enquirer
Dusty Baker had teams finish first or second nine times and won at least 90 games five times while managing the Giants and Cubs.

CINCINNATI -- When Dusty Baker became manager of the Reds yesterday, he slipped into the driver's seat of a bus that has been careening along in the wrong direction through seven consecutive losing seasons.

He didn't take long to let everyone know the baseball road he intends to travel with the team even as he conceded that the Reds "are a few parts away" from contending.

Boy I hate that shit eatin grin he has on in that picture. You just know he's told all his friends that he pulled another fast one!

I guess I cant leave just yet, I mean there is a chance Dusty could get a DUI or get caught with drugs or something before the season starts right?:sneaky:

Is it possible for a manager to sustain a career-ending arm injury?

We can get Dusty Baker voodoo dolls and stab them with toothpicks!

Dusty was on 700WLW today questioning why pitchers today can't pitch 400+ innings in a season like Cy Young

We aren't exactly sure why Dusty, but you've tried to get them to do it and wrecked 2 promising careers in the process. No need to continue the grand experiment, lets just leave our guys to 200ish or less please. I'd like HB and JC to still have their arms attached to their shoulders after you've taken your money and ran.
