If Clemson and ND split the season series I expect the AP poll to be what the final CFP poll looks like. They can't have/sell ND vs Clemson III so they can't be 2-3. One of them, probably ND, will be 4 and it will be OSU vs Clemson in the first round once again.

"They" want OSU/Clemson and Bama/Clemson.....so that'll do it.

Joel Klatt moves Ohio State up his rankings after impressive win

After having another unexpected week off and playing without several key starters and reserves, Ohio State went to East Lansing knowing they needed to make a statement. And make a statement they did.

The Buckeyes rolled to an easy victory 52-12 against a Michigan State team that had already beat two ranked opponents. At least one college football analyst took notice on Saturday. Fox Sports college football analyst liked what he saw from OSU and moved the Bucks all the way up to No. 2 in his personal rankings.

Alabama stayed at No. 1 after trouncing LSU, but both Notre Dame and Clemson didn’t look sharp in playing inferior opponents on Saturday.

The funny part is if ND somehow beats Clemson a second time.

1. Bama
2. ND
3. OSU
4. ???

Interesting to hear ESPN sell the A&M for #4 spot over a 2 loss, non-champ Clemson then.

Clemson gets the automatic "but Lawrence didnt play" exemption for the 1st loss. So in ESPNs mind they would only really have 1 loss.

A lot depends on how close the conf champ games are for who’s seeded 4th.

- ND in at 4 if they play Clemson tight
- UF eliminated with loss to BAMA after already losing head to head against ATM
- Bama in at 4 with virtually any type of loss to UF (don’t expect it unless Bama’s early season D rolls off the bus)
- If ND gets smoked, ATM is your 4 seed most likely over Cincy
- If ND wins (even in a nail biter) Clemson is out - period
- Cincy needs 2007 level chaos to even get seeded in a 4 team playoff

My prediction is things hold chalk until CCG’s and it’s 1) Bama, 2) Clemson, 3) OSU, 4) ND

ATM will have a lot to jaw about but at the end of the day that’s a much needed ratings bonanza the mouse needs after getting absolutely murdered in 2020.

Justin Fields, Olave, Wade and Day get their dream scenario to knock down Clemson and Bama. That setup would be an amazing outcome after where Kev had the league back in September. Fields could build one hell of a legacy. Throws the team and the whole damn conference on his back to make it happen this year...
