I put the there because i thought it was apporiate to follow your novel, and you're calling buckeye fans hypocrites and bringing up MoC.. how are any of us being hypocritical? I don't get it.. maybe I overlooked something.. care to explain?
And walking in, taking the car, having the cops show up, being charged and processed for a crime, then having everything cleared up three days later, not coincidentally the very day before your team is playing the #2 team in the country, once everyone realizes you're the starting safety and a team captain, so all parties involved are suddenly shrugging everything off as some zany misunderstanding ...Gatorubet;950297; said:Not trying to be too cure here Dry, but facts matter. Saying it was taking a car without knowing the interplay of other facts is not the whole picture on what happened. All I'm saying.
Actually, every person should try to steal a better car than the one that got towed....so he did not try to maximize the situation.methomps;950298; said:Interesting business model. So every person should first attempt to steal back their car before paying, as there are no consequences for getting caught.
Edit: Oh, and call first and feign interest in coming by to pay for your car.

Something of an annual tradition. Last year... Star DT Marcus Thomas' latest drug incident leads to a 5-game suspension which started AFTER tennessee. Then after two easy games, Thomas' suspension is lifted during LSU week. He is later kicked off the team for good. And walking in, taking the car, having the cops show up, being charged and processed for a crime, then having everything cleared up three days later, not coincidentally the very day before your team is playing the #2 team in the country, once everyone realizes you're the starting safety and a team captain, so all parties involved are suddenly shrugging everything off as some zany misunderstanding ...

So is Urban following your suggestion? It sure sounded like he would be playing if the charges were dropped.I think that he is likely guilty of a trespass misdemeanor, and that considering the facts he should not be allowed to play against LSU.

I'm not sure this refutes the convenience of the timing. If someone pulled some strings, couldn't they do so at the University level too? Merely pontificating.Actually, you are way off base. The handling of his suspension and the timing of his later failed drug tests was by University rules out of the hands of anyone at the athletic department. By law ALL students who violate university rules are judged by a "court" under the jurisdiction of the University faculty and student appointed to that case.
Why did he win the appeal? Was he not suggesting that the 2nd drug test was lingering effects from the initial drug use triggering the first violation? I thought that was how it played out.It did play out as you say because he won his appeal the week of the LSU game. Thomas could have appealed the new charge and gone on playing without an "official" conviction by the University. He was dismissed from the team before the University had "tried" him because of the failed drug test and because Thomas quit going to the AA program Urban had made a requirement.
Wasn't he gone for those games due to a THIRD violation?Although it turned out that we did not need him, if you think that many Gators fans were not missing our best defensive lineman for the USC, UGA, ARKY and a little game in Phoenix, you are wrong.
Gatorubet;950316; said:Again, what is any coach, Tress or Meyer, to do when charges are dropped? If it had happened at TOSU, and the kid was generally recognized as a good kid, that he stuck around and tried to work it out rather than take off in the incident, and that no criminal convictions that arose from it for whatever reason, what would you have Tress do in that situtation.
