'06 OH OL/DT Aaron Brown (Virginia Tech Signee)

BIG 3

We never really had Boren. His old man played for Michigan and his lil brother cried when he found out Justin was even considering OSU. That is not a loss in my opinion. JT and staff almost pulled off the unbelievable with Boren. We did pull in Smith and we still haven't lost Brown. Brown has stated the depth chart / playing time is a deciding factor. If our depth charts look deeper than VT and ND then we are not going fall apart if we don't get him. I would love to have him but if we don't pull in brown it's not because the staff didn't do everything in their power.

i think it's going to boil down to what madville has been telling us. the staff needs to make Aaron feel wanted here. if they can't do that before Oct. 6th, then we are in trouble. i really think that Aaron wants to be a Buckeye, but when approaching it the way that the Brown's have been, anything can happen.

Regarding the Brown recruiting. If the guy wants to be like another Cincy native (Michael Munoz), and eschew the Buckeyes for 'greener' pastures, then more power to him. Every top flight program will recruit the 'next greatest' player at that position, no matter what. It's the guys like Hawk, Jenkins, etc. that come in as 'underdogs' as it were, and work their butts off to become better than the **** or ***** that were recruited ahead of them (or after). Those are the people that JT & staff need to recruit. Unfortunately, the guys who will develop, rather than those that 'are at their peak in HS' are the hardest to identify. :osu:

I think right now it is best to wait on Aaron to make his decision. We keep talking about George Brown as if Aaron's mother doesn't exist, she will also play a huge roll in the decision making process. Aaron values his mother's opinion a great deal, so I would advise tOSU to focus in on mom and not dad!

And what would mom advise....

The recruitment of Brown has had its ups and downs. The Brown's have been implying that OSU didn't exactly impress them and there is this preception that Aaron and his parents want him to feel "wanted" by schools. I really don't have a solid idea of where Aaron will end up.

The staff has done an outstanding job of recruiting Brown, if he decides to go elsewhere, it will not be because OSU didn't make him feel welcomed.
