Have to say, we need this kid pretty bad with all the type guys we're already getting. Ironic because we lacked the big man the last few years and had the guards and almost feels its swinging the other way a bit now

A similiar question was asked in an interview with his dad and he replied that a lot of former players including Turner, Conley, and Redd have been on campus for a few weeks now, free interview posted on Bucknuts this morning. Simmons' dad is a coach and said it's very impressive that Matta's former players continue to come back to OSU.

Here is a link to what is mentioned about. Simmons also was very impressed when he visited UNLV so they are now in the equation along with Kentucky and the Buckeyes.

When D'Angelo Russell spurned recruiters such as Kentucky and Louisville to sign with The Ohio State Buckeyes, the talented guard cited a close relationship with Thad Matta.

Russell, of course, plays for the Los Angeles Lakers now, but the No. 2 overall pick was in Columbus Saturday as part of Ohio State's efforts to woo Kobi Simmons, a 2016 five-star combo guard out of Georgia, during his official visit.
